Childcare Support for Women Entrepreneurs!
We are very excited to announce that we have been chosen as one of three recipients of the Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Grant from the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship (BII+E) at Ryerson University!
Through this program – known as the Childcare Support Pilot for Women Entrepreneurs – we will provide reliable, flexible and accessible childcare to women over the next 14 months. This will allow women entrepreneurs to attend networking meetings, trade shows, sales meetings, accelerators and last-minute grant application opportunities — all important aspects of growing a business that can be a challenge for entrepreneurial moms.
Datenight Babysitting currently provides childcare for a number of women entrepreneurs. Jana Reid, founder of children’s clothing company, Modern Rascals, says that without the support from Datenight Babysitting, she would not have been able to achieve 100% growth in her business over the last year. “I started my business during my second maternity leave. I needed part-time and flexible care for my youngest, which is impossible to find, even in a big city like Toronto — and that’s where Datenight came in,” Reid says. “I’ve had a regular daytime babysitter for the last 18 months, and it’s allowed me to have focused work time.”
If you or anybody you know could benefit from this program, please email Meaghan at [email protected] for more information!
