How do I log into my account?
You can access your account through our website once you have interviewed and are approved for the roster. You will emailed a form to set your password to be able to login online. If you forget your password, please request a new one through the website.
How do I send my referral code to a friend?
On the “news and updates” section of your dashboard, you can find ways to send a link with a referral code.
I got a request for an interview but it says that it is expired.
Some requests are first come, first served so this means another babysitter beat you to the job.
I got a request for an interview but there are no time slots offered.
If you are interested in interviewing with the family, please decline the request and ask for new time slots. If you are not interested in interviewing with the family, please still decline it and choose your reason for decline.
I got a message that says I missed an interview request and if it happens again I will be set to inactive. Why did I get that message?
This is just a reminder message to make sure that you respond to each interview request and it means that you have an unanswered interview request. It’s important to respond to all requests, even if you have to say no as parents are awaiting your reply. If you are unclear as to whether or not you missed a request, check your dashboard
I’m not getting any interview requests. Are there no jobs in my area?
If you aren’t getting any interview requests, make sure you are setting your availability as this will help you get more requests. If you still aren’t getting any, email [email protected] with your name and postal code to inquire what the reason could be.
Will the family call/Skype me at the agreed upon time?
It is always YOUR responsibility as the babysitter to place the call to the family. Please mark it on your calendar and be sure to place the call right on time. Note that you are not permitted to miss an interview or babysitting job without proper notice. Any incidents of this happening will be considered a “no show” and will affect your Datenight Status.
I am too busy to meet new families but would like to keep getting requests from my existing families. What can I do?
If you no longer want to meet new families, login to your dashboard and set yourself to “inactive” which will stop you from getting interview requests. This can be changed back at any time.
I am going away on holidays – how do I stop my requests?
Login to your dashboard and make sure you are set to “unavailable for booking” and “inactive.” The former will stop you from getting date requests and the latter will stop you from getting interview requests. You can change this back at any time.
Can I change my hourly wage?
You are free to change your hourly wage through your dashboard however please note that it will only be effective for new families going forward. Your current clients agreed to connect with you at your old rate so before your rate can be updated with them, you need to make sure that they are ok with your new rate. If a client agrees, please email [email protected] with the clients’s name and the new rate that should be updated.
Can I change my references or other profile information?
Yes you can do this through your dashboard.
Will Datenight Babysitting provide me with a T4?
No we will not. We are connection platform so you aren’t considered an employee of ours. The income made through our platform should be claimed as “self employment income” on your tax return.
What if I need to cancel an interview or a date request?
We ask that you only say yes to requests that you are sure you can keep. Parents have busy schedules and it’s a big inconvenience when an interview is cancelled– they view it as an indicator of your reliability as a babysitter. Furthermore, when a date request is cancelled, it can leave them in a serious dilemma. However, if you do need to cancel, you can do so through your dashboard and we ask that you give a minimum of 24 hours notice with a note apologizing to the parents. In addition, please ensure that you get a confirmation text that the date/interview is indeed cancelled and make sure it no longer shows in your dashboard.
A parent has requested me through text message, what should I do?
It is very important that all jobs go through the app for many reasons. If a parent requests you off the app, you can tell them that you are available for the job but to please send a request through the app.
How does payment work?
You are sent your money by e-transfer within 48 hours of your Datenight job. Please note that sometimes there can be bank delays and it might take up to 72 hours. If it has been 72 hours and you still haven’t received payment, please contact [email protected] outlining the date that you are missing payment for.
